Catnip
Also called catmint, is a member of the mint family and is not just for cats. Catnip is named after its ability to excite our feline friends. Catnip can also be added to your salad to give a mint flavor or leaves can be chewed after a meal to freshen your breath. Medicinally Catnip is anti-flatulent helping to settle indigestion and colic, helps promote sleep and can stimulate sweating helping to reduce fevers. The herb's pleasant taste and gentle action makes it suitable for cold/flu or fever remedy for children, especially when mixed with elderflower.
Catnip can also be used as a natural pest deterent. Infuse into an oil and spray on to plants and outdoor areas to help keep insects away.
Do not use if pregnant/nursing, avoid if you have heavy menstrual bleeding
