Tincture: of root 1/2 tsp diluted with 1/2 cup water 3 times a day
Tea: decoction of root 1/3 cup 3 times a day: Infusion of leaves 2 cups daily
Description:
Rose petals have long been considered a symbol of love and of the heart and has a long history in herbalism as well. Rose Petals vulnerary properties promote tissue repair, along with its aromatic perfume and is often used in skincare products. Its anti-inflammatory properties are helpful to soothe irritations either internally or externally. Roses also act as a reproductive restorative to increase libido and fertility. The nerving properties give a calming effect especially when dealing with a broken heart.
Traditional Western Uses:
Often used in aromatherapy, herbal teas and baths as a mild sedative, antidepressant, and anti-inflammatory remedy. The anti-inflammatory and stringent properties make this perfect to tighten, tone, nourish and soothe the skin. Roses also have a cooling nature, making it a wonderful remedy for hot conditions like sunburns, rosacea, acne and other inflammatory skin conditions. Roses are rich in antioxidants and vitamins which make it ideal for both dry and mature skin and helps fight free-radical damage to help improve skin tone. Use in a rose water as it's mildly astringent and can help soothe inflamed, sore eyes.
Studies have also shown roses may help to support healthy blood pressure levels, and reduce high cholesterol.
Roses also have the ability to support the digestive tract with its cooling, astringent properties it can be beneficial for inflamed GI tracts due to IBS, leaky gut or other inflammatory conditions.
