To the ancient Greeks, bay leaves represented great athletic & literary achievement. Most commonly found in Indian, Greek, and Middle Eastern cuisines added to soups and stews it lends a peppery taste with notes of oregano and marjoram.

Pairs best with earthy and savory herbs like thyme, oregano, parsley, rosemary and sage.
